Crêpe de Froment
A crêperie is a restaurant specialised in making crêpes, a type of very thin pancake, usually made from wheat flour (froment) or buckwheat flour (galettes). While crêpes are often associated with Brittany, a region in the northwest of France, their consumption is widespread in France, Belgium, Quebec and many parts of Europe and North Africa. Crêpes are served with a variety of fillings, from the most simple with only sugar to flambées crêpes Suzette or elaborate savoury galettes.
We also include in this categorie the Belgian waffle which is a leavened batter or dough cooked between two plates, patterned to give a characteristic size, shape and surface impression. There are many variations based on the type of waffle iron and recipe used.
