Celebrating its 26th year in 2015, the Alliance Française French Film Festival (AFFFF) is not only the biggest film festival in Perth, it is also the biggest festival of French films outside of France. The AFFFF audience includes Australians, French, Francophiles and movie buffs – all keen to experience the latest sophisticated, vibrant and daring films from France. French cinema has an appeal that reaches far beyond France’s local community.

During the last ten years, the AFFFF’ program has more than doubled, growing from 18 films in 2004 to 49 in 2015. This is also reflected in audience attendance which has tripled between 2005 and 2013 from 45,000 to 132,423. The AFFFF attracts mainly non-French speakers (85% of Australian audiences in 2013), making it a showcase for the dissemination and promotion of French culture and language to the widest possible audience.

The AFFFF website is very well structured and gives you plenty of information about the line-up and schedule. We have mapped all films available in Perth in the list below sorted by film types and within our calendar in order to give additional information about the line-up. We have compiled information from the IMDB and Wikipedia in order to add some juicy details that may help you choose within the 47 films.

The first juicy detail would probably be that only 47 films are part of the AFFFF 2015 in Perth as Breathe (Respire) and
Girlhood (Bande De Filles) have already been in theatres earlier this year and the rights to display it in Perth have already
been acquired.
